REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has granted temporary leave to Governor of Jakarta, Joko Widodo (known as Jokowi) to contest in presidential election this year. Both met at the State Palace in Jakarta.

Jokowi said that the permission was granted to him untill the election process completed. 

"President granted his permission and (the letter) will be issued tomorrow (Wednesday, Ed)," Jokowi said on Tuesday.

President asked Jokowi and other presidential candidates to uphold the ethics and civic attitude during their presidential campaign.
