REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, DEPOK -- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) admitted to discussing the 2024 presidential election in his meeting with a number of general chairmen of the governing coalition parties. In addition to discussing the presidential election, Jokowi also called the meeting to discuss governance.

“There is discussion of government, there is also discussion of presidential election,” Jokowi said after inaugurating the Pamulang-Cinere-Raya Bogor toll road at the main Limo toll gate, Depok City, West Java, Monday (8/1/2024).

During the meeting, Jokowi confessed while doing a meal together. “Dinner, lunch, breakfast,” he said.

When asked that the meeting showed a non-neutral stance in the election, Jokowi denied it. “Wong meets at night, meets on holidays and eats as well,” Jokowi said.

As is well known, President Jokowi held a marathon meeting with a number of coalition party chairmen ahead of the third presidential debate. On Friday (5/1/2024) evening, Jokowi had a dinner together with Gerindra Party Chairman and presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto number 2. The joint dinner was held at Rumah Makan Thousand Rasa Menteng.

Later on Saturday (6/1/2024) morning, Jokowi met with Golkar Party General Chairman Airlangga Hartarto. The two exercised together and also had breakfast around the Presidential Palace in Bogor, West Java.

And finally, Jokowi met the General Chairman of the National Mandate Party, Zulkifli Hasan on Sunday (7/1/2024). They also had lunch together at a restaurant in Bogor City area, West Java
