REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BOGOR -- President-elect Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Vice President-elect Ma'ruf Amin will soon form a new cabinet for the 2019-2024 period, following meetings with their legal team, national campaign team (TKN), and leaders of political parties supporting them.
"Mr Jokowi might soon (form a new cabinet), following a meeting with the legal team last night, and tonight with TKN and TKD (local-level campaign teams), and it will be followed by (a meeting with) political party leaders," Arsul Sani, deputy chairman of TKN, told the press after meeting Jokowi at the Bogor Presidential Palace here on Tuesday evening.
There is a possibility that TKN and TKD will also propose names to be considered for cabinet ministers, Sani said. The tasks of TKN and TKD will be over when the General Elections Commission (KPU) officially announces the President and Vice President-elect, according to him.
However, TKN and TKD will remain exist in the Working Indonesia Coalition (KIK), and will continue to guard the Jokowi Administration until the 2024 General Election. "Our tasks are completed. But, the Working Indonesia Coalition continues to exist, comprising nine political parties, plus PBB as the latest member. We, however, will guard the administration of Mr Jokowi until the next election," he said.
