REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Two conflicting coalitions at the House of Representatives, Red and White Coalition (KMP) of Prabowo Subianto and Great Indonesian Coalition (KIH) of President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo, finally made peace. Both have signed an agreement on Monday, November 17.
Pramono Anung and Olly Dondokambey were representing KIH, while KMP was represented by Hatta Rajasa and Idrus Marham. Representatives from both coalitions were seen embracing each other after the signing.
Speaker of the House Setya Novanto said the agreement was aimed to make both coalitions work hand in hand harmoniously. "There will be no KIH and KMP. We only have one family at the House," Novanto said on Monday, November 17.
The agreement consists of five points. The first is that KIH gets 21 chairmanships of internal bodies. Secondly, they have changed articles on Laws no 17/2014. They have also decided to revise the 2014 Legislative Institutions Law (MD3) before December 5. The last point is that both coalitions agreed to have meeting on no-confidence motion.
