He called for more patience to respond to provocations smelling of religion so that security and harmony are maintained.

“In any case, we are already aware that Indonesia is a country whose tribe I as an Indonesian is proud of the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika,” Ustaz Bachtiar said on the sidelines of Silaturahim Eid 1445 H Alumni of Saudi Arabia across Indonesia, at Four Seasons, Gatot Subroto, Kuningan Barat, South Jakarta, Thursday (25/4/2024).

Ustadz Bachtiar encouraged that interfaith dialogue, especially among religious figures, be frequent. It is hoped that interfaith relations in everyday life can be maintained.

He also assessed that political sensitivity at the political moment also played a role in creating an atmosphere of disturbed public relations. But he advised against overreacting to provocative videos.

“Then the rubber articles that lead to these horizontal conflicts should also be taken into account by Parliament so as not to be provoked,” Ustaz Bachtiar said.
