REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA— The National Awakening Party (PKB) expressed its support for the government of Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka as president and vice president elected for the period 2024-2029.
“I don't think there is any need to answer, it is already a step (obviously supporting Prabowo-Gibran),” said PKB General Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar during a press statement at the PKB DPP Office, Jalarta, Thursday (25/4/2024) evening.
This was stated by Muhaimim when asked about his meeting with Prabowo in Jakarta on Wednesday (24/4) at noon. Regarding whether the CLA will be in the government or not, Muhaimin replied that it was clear.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Jazilul Fawaid said Chairman General Muhaimin had already said cooperation with Prabowo.
Regarding whether the CLA will be in the government or not, Gus Jazil stated that he is still waiting for the inauguration of the president and vice president-elect on October 20, 2024.
Cak Jazil, as he is known, confirmed the absence of any discussion on the joining of the CLA into the Prabowo-Gibran government during the meeting on Wednesday (24/4/2024).
The meeting was only in the form of an agenda for the delivery of eight CLA agendas that could be input for Prabowo in running the government in the future.
“It's not there yet (the PKB joins the government). So today the CLA tradition of competition should not be later divorced. But the competition must end with good fellowship, and thank God this afternoon happened. The presidential election is over. The issue of coalition inside or outside will be decided,” Jazilul told reporters at the PKB DPP Office, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (24/4/2024).
Jazilul said that the CLA had trusted Prabowo as President-elect and deserved to get a reliable tip from the CLA. So the submission of the eight agendas of the CLA is not confidence in Prabowo.
“That's it (the discussion), that's it. Haven't spoken outside or inside the government. But in history, it is clear that PKB and Gerindra have the same vision and have experience in cooperation. Both in the legislature and elsewhere,” he explained.
PKB was the second party after NasDem Party to be led by Surya Paloh who expressed support for Prabowo-Gibran. Remains of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), which has not yet declared a stance, as a party in the Change Coalition of Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar in the 2024 elections.
Earlier, the PKS elite led by PKS General Chairman Ahmad Syaikhu met the PKB elite led by PKB General Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar at the PKB DPP Office, Jakarta, on Thursday night.
Muhaimin said it is a silaturahim, in the framework of halalbihalal as well as silaturahim and the equalization of perception, various experiences together in the Coalition for Change.
