REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Daily Chairman of DPP Gerindra Party, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad said that all political parties supporting Prabowo-Gibran that are part of the Forward Indonesia Coalition (KIM) will meet in May 2024. The Nasdem Party and the CLA, which recently declared support for Prabowo-Gibran, will also attend.
“As our fellow journalists know, we have held a meeting and have agreed cooperation with the CLA, then earlier with Nasdem,” Dasco said after Nasdem declared support for the Prabowo-Gibran government at Prabowo's home in South Jakarta on Thursday (25/4/2024).
Dasco said that the meeting was held in gratitude because the 2024 presidential election was over. The meeting will also be the first moment for Nasdem and the CLA to meet with Prabowo-Gibran's supporting parties in the 2024 presidential election.
According to him, the meeting will prove that there is no denial within KIM of the joining of Nasdsm and the CLA. Moreover, all KIM member parties have agreed that Prabowo will decide on the addition of coalition parties.
When asked if in the meeting he would discuss the division of ministerial seats, Dasco denied. “The comrades in the coalition party submitted completely to Mr. Prabowo to do the drafting of the cabinet,” he said.
Earlier, Wednesday (24/4/2024), Prabowo visited the PKB DPP Office to meet the party's general chairman, Muhaimin Iskandar. After the meeting, Prabowo admitted that he accepted the CLA's desire to continue to cooperate.
A day later, Nasdem Party General Chairman Surya Paloh and his staff met Prabowo. After holding a closed-door meeting for about an hour, Paloh declared his party's support for Prabowo-Gibran's government.
With the merger of the PKB and Nasdem, KIM now consists of six parliamentary parties. Prabowo-Gibran's four supporting parliamentary parties are the Gerindra Party, the Golkar Party, the PAN, and the Democratic Party.
