Govt on alert due to possible chaos after election

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said that the government was on alert due to possible chaos after July 9, 2014 presidential election. He has instructed the police and military to maintain the security in a recent cabinet meeting.

"I asked them to prevent such possibility. We must contain when clash erupts. Otherwise, it will tarnish the image of our democratic system. It will alao potentially disturb our national security which impact our economy as well as the people," Yudhyono said. 

President asked the police and military to take neutral stance regarding to the election. He also asked both presidential candidates, Prabowo Subianto and Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo were ready either wining or lose at the democracy contest. 

"Do not forget, the presidential election is conducted every five years. Everybody can compete again and there is always a chance," Yudhoyono said.
