REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Both presidential candidates, Joko Widodo (popularly known as Jokowi) and Prabowo Subianto, showed their commitments on creative economy during second presidential debate on Sunday.

Jokowi said that Indonesia had not explored its creative economy. He believes that creative economy must be better managed in this rich cultured country.

While Subianto underlined the importance of creative economy in this populous country. Creative economy, he said, could be a driving force to compete with other countries.

"Investment on education will drive creative economy and can be an added value for our nation," Prabowo said in second presidential debate held in Grand Melia Hotel, Jakarta on Sunday evening.

Subianto highlighted issues related to economic nationalism, emphasizing domestic control of the economy. In the end, Subianto praised Jokowi for his ideas. "I have to admit, Jokowi has good ideas," Subianto said.

Both candidates shook hands and hugged each other in the end of the debate.
