REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has reminded the government officials to stick to the working programs amidst a tendency of political escalation prior to the general elections in 2014.

"I have to reiterate it, this year and next year," the president said here on Thursday when chairing a limited cabinet meeting on the government`s working plans. "First, there is political escalation due to the upcoming general elections, like what had happened in 2003 and 2004, as well as in 2008 and 2009. It`s escalating when we are approaching the elections. With the help of God, Insya Allah (if God's willing -Ed) we will manage that," he said.

The second dimension, according to the head of state, is the political escalation triggered by non-election issues, but those political actors who come under the spotlight. He believes that impelenting governmental program is the key element so the political dynamic will not hamper the administration works and the people`s life.
