Prabowo May Announce His Cabinet on Sunday Evening: DPR

The ministers would be inaugurated immediately on Monday morning.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) Sufmi Dasco Ahmad unveiled that President would likely announce the line-up of his first term cabinet on Sunday evening.

Earlier on Sunday at around 10.31 a.m. local time, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka were sworn-in as president and vice president of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2024-2029 leadership term at Jakarta's Senayan legislative complex.

"Insya Allah (God willing), (the announcement) is made tonight. Mr. President will announce his cabinet line-up from the palace," Ahmad told journalists here Sunday.

Ahmad further informed that if the cabinet line-up was announced tonight, the ministers would be inaugurated immediately on Monday morning, while the deputy ministers would be inaugurated on Monday afternoon.

Several days before the presidential inauguration, Prabowo had summoned more than 100 prospective figures touted to become seats of ministers, deputy ministers, and heads of agencies to his private residence in Jakarta.

Meanwhile, leaders of the House, People's Condultative Assembly (MPR) and Regional Representatives Council (DPD) as well as 732 MPR members were among those witnessing the swearing-in of Prabowo and Gibran in the MPR's plenary session at the Senayan legislative complex's Nusantara Building.

The MPR plenary session regarding the Indonesia presidential inauguration was also attended by national figures, political party leaders, and representatives of 34 friendly countries.

Among the attending dignitaries included at least 20 officials at the heads of state level and 18 officials at the ministerial level.

The friendly countries sending their envoys to attend the inauguration included Germany, Qatar, Thailand, Malaysia, Australia, Papua New Guinea, Russia, Laos, Vietnam, Vanuatu, Brunei Darussalam, Timor Leste, Serbia, and China.

Other countries included Cambodia, New Zealand, Solomon Islands, Philippines, South Korea, Singapore, Egypt, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, India, Jordan, Japan, Italy, Canada, France, Brazil, and Fiji.
