REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Celebrating the National Batik Day on October 2, US Ambassador to Indonesia, Scot Marciel, said that he loved batik. For him, batik made him comfortable especially for the cotton batik.

"I have about 15 pieces of batik," he said to Republika.

Every staff member in the US Embassy in Indonesia must also wear batik on Friday. Marciel also hopes that Americans can wear batik. "Americans are not really used to wearing batik, but I hope that will change. Especially in a hot day in Washington, I would like to wear batik," he said.
