REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, DENPASAR - About 200 Hindu priests from many countries attend the World Hindu Summit in Bali. The summit, opened on Saturday by Governor of Bali Made Mangku Pastika, will last until June 12 and targeted to produce Bali Charter. While the theme for the summit is "Harmony for the World, from the Island of God, Bali-Indonesia", as cited in summit.worldhinduparisada.org.

"Hopefully, this event will send peaceful vibration and tolerance to all over the world," Pastika said.

Bali Charter will reflect the spirit of tolerance among Hindus as well as with other religions, to promote the peaceful world. In general, Pastika added, the charter was a reflection of the values of Satyam Shivam Sundaram, namely the truth, holiness, and beauty. Those values are translated into harmonious relationships among human beings. The charter is also a Hindu’s contribution to the world.

Pastika expressed his hope that Hindus to participate more actively in solving a wide range of social problems. He added, this event hopefully could act as an umbrella for Hindus from all over the world.
