REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, LONDON - Indonesian Embassy in Bern with Tropenhaus hold Indonesian festival in Frutigen Village. The location is in the Alpen valley that can be reached in 30 minutes from Bern, Switzerland.

Entering the Tropenhaus, the visitors feel the life in tropical land. With 25 degree Celsius, the weather is contradicted with the surrounding, which is in five degree Celsius. Tropenhaus also presents "Why the Earth Warm", an exhibition on geothermal as continuing green energy. The energy is used in Indonesia in many ways.

"Indonesian culinary plays a big role in promoting tourism and Indonesian culture," the Education, Social, and Culture of Indonesian Embassy in Bern, Budiman Wiriakusumah, said. Indonesia offers some other uniqueness of varies tropical fruit trees such banana, papaya, and mango trees, and also hundred kinds of orchid.

Located in the middle of garden, the restaurant in the exhibition reminds the visitor of Indonesia by serving all Indonesian menu, such as gado-gado (ground nuts topped salad), shrimp crakers, soto (traditional Indonesian soup), and asinan (sweet sour salad). They also serve satay (roasted skewed chicken) and fried rice as the main course. The real taste of Indonesia!
