A person's wealth will be a blessing if its owner performs practices in accordance with Islamic guidance. Here are the practices in question.

First, give thanks to Allah for all the favours bestowed upon him.

Allah says:

“And (remember) when your Lord proclaims. Indeed, if you give thanks, We will add to you, but if you disbelieve, My punishment will be grievous. (QS Ibrahim [14]: 7).

Second, silaturahim.

This practice is an attempt to connect the bonds of brotherhood among human beings: to knit and strengthen ukhuwah Islamiyah (Muslim brotherhood) and ukhuwah insaniyah (brotherhood of fellow man). This practice can provide sustenance from Allah.

Abu Hurairah (peace be upon him) narrated a hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): “Whoever wishes to have his sustenance and prolong his life, let him tie the cord of kinship (silaturahim).” (Transmitted by Bukhari).

Third, give it up in the way of Allah.

The development of wealth is influenced also by the factors on which it is spent.

“The parable of those who give away their wealth in the way of Allah is similar to a seed that grows seven grains on each grain of a hundred seeds. God multiplies the reward for whom He wills. And Allah is Mahamengetahui again.” (QS Al Baqarah [2] verse 261).

Fourth, always do good.

All good will return to the culprit. Goodness will bring happiness and happiness. In the Quran, it is explained:

“If you do good, you do good for yourself.” (QS Al-Isra' [17]: 7).

Fifth, fornication and bestowal.

Zakat and alms will cleanse one's possessions because therein lies the rights of others. Allah says:

“Take zakat from some of their possessions. With the zakat, you cleanse and purify them and pray for them. Indeed, your prayer will be peace of mind for them. And Allah is pleased to hear again Mahamengetahui.” (QS At Taubah [9]: 103).

These are the five practices that will bring prosperity to wealth. May God send down His blessings from heaven and earth through the riches we have.
