Women brings dog to mosque faces blasphemy

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, CIBINONG -- A woman who brings dog into Al Munawaroh mosque in Sentul, Bogor Regency can be threatened with blasphemy. It was stated by Bogor Police chief Andi M Dicky on Monday (July 1). 

"Based on our coordination, temporary we apply Article 156 Criminal Code about blasphemy with threat five years imprisonment," said Dicky.

Dicky explained that currently a woman with 'SM' initials was currently being investigated. According to him, the investigators will examine the case first and continue further. 

Police also examined the witnesses in the case. Among the witnesses are people at Al Munawaroh mosque, also SM's husband. Earlier, her husband said that SM suffered a psychiatric disorder and also showed a medical record as a proof. 

"However, we will ensure first by taking SM to National Police hospital in Kramat Jati, East Jakarta for observation," said Dicky. 

Earlier, a video that showed a woman enters a mosque with a dog went viral. Based on information, SM entered Al Munawaroh mosque at around 2 pm on Sunday (June 30).

People inside the mosque immediately asked SM to leave the premises. However, she looked emotional and said that she was looking for her husband. Later, she has argument with one of mosque's worshipers.
