Police arrest alleged terrorist in Central Java

Police say the alleged terrorists involved in bomb explosions in Central Java.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SOLO -- Police anti-terrorist squad Densus 88 have arrested three terrorist suspects in the town of Solo and Karanganyar district in Central Java. The raid was aimed to solve an old case of bomb explosions in Gladak and Singosaren some time ago.

"Totally there are three that have been arrested by Densus 88, two of them in Karanganyar and one in Solo," Central Java regional police chief Inspector General Condro Kirono said here on Sunday.

Suspects arrested in Solo are known by their initials as S and EM while the one arrested in Solo is HS. Kirono said HS was arrested in Semanggi, Pasar Kliwon, Surakarta, while EM and S were arrested in Dukuh Winong RT 01/RW 04, Jatkueung, Gondangrejo, Karanganyar.

Kirono said the arrests were fully carried out by Densus 88 while the Central Java police personnel merely helped secure the arrest and search operation.

He said the three suspects were still under interrogation. "They are questioned with regard to their roles," he said.
