REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The National Police's anti-terror squad, Densus 88, has arrested a suspected terrorist in Bogor, West Java, a police spokesman said. The 50-year-old suspected terrorist, identified by his initials, E alias AR alias Mr. Jenggot, was arrested at Raya Bogor Street in Nanggewer village, Cibinong sub-district, Bogor district, West Java province, on Friday, Head of the Public Relations Bureau of the Indonesian Police Brigadier General Dedi Prasetyo said.
"It is true that Densus is still thoroughly investigating the case in the field," he said.
E was arrested after Densus investigated another suspected terrorist identified by his initials, THB, who was arrested in Pemalang district, Central Java, last Saturday (May 13, 2019). It is still unclear which terrorist network E alias Mr. Jenggot belongs to, and neither is his role in the terrorist act.
Meanwhile, according to Bogor Police Chief Andi M Dicky, some raw materials and home-made explosives, including TATP and nitroglycerin, were found in the suspected terrorist's house. Some pots, nails, including bomb-making books and jihadi doctrine books also found during the search.
In addition, the police also found evidence of sharp weapons in the form of pistols and various types of machetes.
