REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - The Election Organizers Ethics Council (DKPP) gave sanction to a number of members of General Election Commission (KPU), who violated the code of ethics. DKPP chairman, Jimly Asshiddiqie dismissed nine members of KPU and Election Supervisory Committee (Bawaslu) also reprimanded 30 other members.

The nine members consisted of 5 members of KPU Dogiai regency (Papua), 2 members of KPU Serang (Banten), and 2 members of KPU Banyuwangi (East Java). The 30 people who were reprimanded by DKPP were including KPU Chairman (Husni Kamil Manik) and Bawaslu Chairman (Muhammad). In some complaints, both of them were considered violating the code of ethic in low level.

Asshiddiqie praised to KPU Commissioner, Hadar Nafis Gumay and Bawaslu member, Sukoharjo Subakti for showing the integrity in performing their duties. It has been three weeks since KPU declared Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo and his running mate Jusuf Kalla as the winners of 2014 presidential election with 53.15 percent of votes, with an 8.4 million lead over Prabowo and his running mate Hatta Rajasa. Prabowo rejected those results, claiming massive, systemic and structural fraud.

Constitutional Court reminded all parties to respect its verdict in 2014 presidential election dispute. It is announced on Thursday afternoon. Any decision made by the court was final and binding. About 50,000 police and troops have been deployed in Jakarta to maintain the security.
