REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Joko Widodo's vice presidential candidate, Jusuf Kalla asked Golkar Party cadres to support him in presidential election on July 9. He saw that coalition between Gerindra and Golkar Party did not install any Golkar Party's cadre to leader position.

"You'd be better to vote this former Golkar Party's chairman (Kalla mentioning himself) than other party's chairman, where is your logic?" Kalla said on Tuesday, before entering a venue in Jakarta to participate in national coordination meeting with Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP).

Kalla said that presidential election voting a figure, not a party. He believes that Golkar Party's cadres and its supporters can pick their own choice rather than follow the party's.o

Kalla is still a Golkar Party's cadre despite his most current position as vice presidential candidate of PDIP and its coalition. According to him, there is no provision to force him to out of His party

"Golkar Party certainly has reason when joining Gerindra, but I am sure that Golkar cadres can also have their own considerations," Kalla said.
