Three entrepreneurs to compete in convention of presidential candidates

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Three leading businessmen in Indonesia are predicted to compete in convention of presidential candidates from Democratic Party. They are Gita Wiryawan, Rusdi Kirana and Chaerul Tanjung.

Gita Wirjawan who also minister of trade, is considered successful with his investmen company, Ancora Group. Chaerul Tanjung builds Trans Corporation, a media, lifestyle and entertainment company, while Rusdi Kirana is President Director of Lion Air, Indonesia's largest private airline.

"Three of them are potential to follow convention of Democratic Party because they successfully lead their companies. We will bring successful national figures," Chief of Central Executive Board in Democratic Party, Sutan Bhatoegana said on Wednesday.

Board of Advisor Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), Jeffrie Geovanie earlier has predicted the candidacy of those three figures. He said that competition among three figures would be tight.
