REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Jakarta Provincial Government achieved unqualified opinion on Jakartas 2017 financial report. Unqualified opinion or also known as wajar tanpa pengecualian (WTP) is the best audit grade that was given by Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).
WTP was given as ceremonially by BPK member, Isma Yatun during a plenary meeting at Jakarta City Hall on Monday (28/5). She said the achievent was given based on BPKs audit on Jakarta administrations 2017 financial report, including the implementation of administrations plans.
Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan said that the achievement is a new round of better financial governance in this provincial government. According to him, guidance from BPK is very instrumental, however it is important that the internal commitment to clean up all the records provided by BPK.
The hard work in the last recent months resulted a proud achievement, said Anies.
The significant improvement of Jakarta Provincial Government financial performance was marked by the increasing of total revenue and financing revenue in 2017 that reached Rp 73,53 trillion or 102,38 percent from the budget. The amount increased by Rp 14,14 trillion or 23,81 percent from realization in 2016 which amounted Rp 59,39 trillion.
Despite a transparent budget that had been implemented by former Jakarta governor Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and his deputy Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok), the administration had failed to achieve a clean status for its financial reports since 2013. BPK cited irregularities in several asset procurements as the reasons for giving a qualified opinion on Jakartas financial reports in the previous four years. Ahok also did not succeed in fixing the financial report when he replaced Jokowi in 2014.
Anies is grateful that the city government can finally reach WTP by BPK. Anies expressed his gratitude specifically to Jakarta Deputy Governor Sandiaga Uno who led the pursuit of this WTP opinion target.
It feels like the blessing of Ramadan, the hard work of in recent months made a proud achievement, said Anies.
