REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BOGOR -- Indonesia held simultaneous local elections for the first time, Wednesday (9/12). Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said, in the elections there were six provinces that became concern of the government.
"There are six provinces, but I can't memorize the provinces," he said at the Bogor Palace, Tuesday (8/12).
In the six provinces, he added, there would be addition of security personnel. Luhut claimed to have reported to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) about potential for conflicts in the elections.
On Monday (7/12), Luhut stated that there were two areas which have problems with the candidate, namely Simalungun Regency and Central Kalimantan Province. A pair of candidates in Central Kalimantan Province, Sonny-Juwawa, won the lawsuit by Administrative Court. Earlier, the pair was disqualified by Local Election Commission due to violated procedures of registration.
Because they won the lawsuit, then there would be printing of new ballot papers. As a consequence, Luhut said the elections in Central Kalimantan would likely be postponed.

"We will see the legal procedure, whether it can be postponed in 10 days," he added.
A similar case also occurred in Simalungun Regency, where there was still a problem with the candidate, who filed a lawsuit to Administrative Court.
National Police Chief Gen. Badrodin Haiti said the police would deploy security forces in a number of provinces that were considered potentially to be riots, namely Papua, West Papua, West Nusa Tenggara, Jambi, East Java, North Sumatra, Central Kalimantan, Maluku, North Maluku, and Central Sulawesi.
