REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG -- Fast train of Jakarta-Bandung route would implement driveless technology (without driver/machinist) with level IV safety index from China. According to Managing Director of Indonesia-China Express Train, Hanggoro, the driverless technology would still be noticed in terms of psychology.

"There will be still driver who will open and close the doors, supervise the passengers, and monitor the situation," said Hanggoro, in Bandung, Thursday (26/11).

Hanggoro explained, the level IV safety index technology has several advantages. There would be no more 'space' for accidents caused by human error.

He stated, train control technology in Indonesia began with the installation of ATP (automatic train protection). ATP is a train control technology that can control the train automatically if there is negligence of machinist.

"Currently, Indonesia-China Express Train continued to improve human resources involved in making fast train of Bandung-Jakarta route," he added.

The groundbreaking development project of Bandung-Jakarta fast train was targeted to begin in April 2016. Some licensing and recommendation were being processed both by Provincial Government of West Java, Jakarta, Ministry of Transportation and Ministry of Environment and Forestry.
