REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) RI cooperates with Bayt Zakat Wa As-Shadaqat, Egypt, to facilitate the distribution of aid to the Palestinian community.

The cooperation was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Chairman of Baznas RI Prof. Dr. KH Noor Achmad MA, with Musytasyar Grand Shaikh Al-Azhar for Bayt Zakat Wa As-Shadaqat Prof. Dr. Sahr Nasr, at Masyikhah Azhar Building, Cairo, Sunday (26/11/2023).

“We are very grateful to have signed an MoU for the distribution of aid to the Palestinian people with Bayt Zakat Wa As-Shadaqat of Egypt, which is a trusted zakat institution in Egypt, and is an institution under the auspices of Grand Sheikh Al Azhar,” said Baznas RI Chairman Prof. Dr. KH Noor Achmad MA.

Kiai Noor explained that the cooperation agreed covers various areas, such as humanitarian, education and empowerment for the Palestinian people.

“This collaboration is a concrete step to support our brothers in Palestine. We hope that this cooperation can make a significant positive contribution to the well-being of the Palestinian people,” Kiai Noor said.

In addition, Kiai Noor also hopes that this cooperation will bring positive benefits to the Palestinian community and increase the sustainability of humanitarian programs in the future.

Meanwhile, Musytasyar Grand Shaikh Al-Azhar for Bayt Zakat Wa As-Shadaqat Prof. Dr Sahr Nasr, welcomed the signatories of cooperation with Baznas RI.

Prof. Dr. Sahr Nasr explained that it is committed to channeling the aid granted to the Palestinian community in accordance with the principles of sharia. “Through this signing we will strengthen cooperation in the field of humanity, exchange of experience, and build strategic partnerships,” he said.
