REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The police have not completed case file of accident experienced by Setya Novanto. They were still waiting for examination results on expert witness from Toyota.
Therefore, the file has not been submitted to the Attorney General Office.
"We will prepare the case file. It was a traffic accident case. When we completed the case file, we will submit it to Attorney General Office," spokesperson of Jakarta Metro Police Senior Commissioner Argo Yuwono said, on Monday.
Meanwhile, the car involved in single accident was still being held by the police as evidence.
Argo said, the police have not found any indication that the accident was a made up.
The suspicion arose since Novanto went missing the day investigators of anti-graft body came to his house, Wednesday (November 15). Moreover, the electricity pole that was hit by the car was still standing tall.
Previously, on Friday (November 17), Argo refused to comment the possiblity of Hilman helped Novanto to hide.
"That was not our domain. We were only investigating the car accident," he said.
During the accident, the House of Representatives speaker sat at the second row of Toyota Fortuner.
Reza, his aide, sat in front of him, while Metro TV stringer Hilman Mattauch drove the car.
The accident occured at at Permata Hijau area on Thursday (November 16) night.
The accident damaged the car's hood and bumper. Its right front tire broke and the middle left window also broke.
"The driver lost his concentration due to driving and taking phone call at the same time. He also frequently turn his head back to speak with the passenger," Argo explained.
Following to the accident, the Golkar party chairman was rushed to Medika Permata Hijau hospital.
Novanto immediately fainted and got a bump in his left forehead. He was rushed to Medika Permata Hijau hospital and since Friday afternoon he has been under treatment of Cipto Mangunkusumo hospital (RSCM).
Meanwhile, his aide and the driver were safe.
Novanto who is a suspect in e-ID card procurement graft case was released from RSCM on Sunday (November 19) night and transferred to the KPK detention facility.
