Aceh Disaster Emergency, 22 People Died, and Tens of Thousands of Residents Displaced

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDA ACEH -- Aceh Governor Muzakir Manaf or Mualem has determined that Aceh is affected. emergency response status for hydrometeorological disasters on Thursday (27/11). This determination was made after Aceh was hit by floods to landslides in 16 districts/cities in the area.

“Today, I am the Governor of Aceh set the status of emergency response to hydrometeorological disasters in Aceh 2025,” said Mualem, in Banda Aceh.

The determination of the emergency response status of this disaster lasted for 14 days, counting from November 28, 2025 to December 11, 2025.

This measure of establishing the emergency status is expected to accelerate the mobilization of logistics, evacuation, and cross-agency support to deal with the now widespread disaster in various regions of Aceh.

According to the report of the Aceh Disaster Management Agency (BPBA) on Thursday until 16.00 WIB, hydrometeorological disasters in Aceh have already occurred in 16 districts/cities, namely Pidie, Aceh Besar, Pidie Jaya, Aceh Tamiang. Later, the districts of Aceh Tenggara, Aceh Barat, Subulussalam, Bireuen, Lhokseumawe, Aceh Timur, Langsa, Bener Meriah, Gayo Lues, Aceh Singkil, Aceh Utara, and Aceh Selatan.

Most of these events are triggered by high rainfall, strong winds, and unstable geological conditions that impact flooding, moving land, as well as landslides.

Casualties affected by the disaster reached 3,817 heads of family (KK) or 119,988 inhabitants. Of these, there are 6,998 KK or 20,759 of them have been displaced.

The flood disaster in Aceh to this day has also killed 22 people, namely in Central Aceh Regency 15 people, North Aceh four, Bener Meriah one person, Southeast Aceh two.

Not only that, two districts are also reportedly isolated, namely Aceh Tengah and Bener Meriah. Since, access to both areas has been completely cut off due to landslides.
