REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Minister of Investment and Chairman of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), who also serves as CEO of Danantara Indonesia, Rosan Roeslani, said the merger process between PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GoTo) and Grab is still underway.
“It is still ongoing,” Rosan said after meeting President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Thursday (27/11/2025).
He noted that no final decision has been reached, but discussions have shown encouraging developments. “It’s positive, the signals are positive,” he added.
Danantara Indonesia stated that it is following government directives and input regarding its involvement in the GoTo–Grab merger. The company said the government provides guidance based on its expectations for the sustainability of the digital ecosystem. Danantara emphasized that its key focus remains on the business-to-business (B2B) relationship between the two companies.
In line with that, Danantara will continue reviewing the B2B process between GoTo and Grab and will support the business relationship between both parties.
Earlier, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi confirmed that a merger plan between GoTo and Grab was under discussion. He said the talks were part of wider deliberations related to the president’s draft regulations on online gambling.
Prasetyo added that Danantara would be involved in the process, and that the plan is still at an exploratory stage, which could lead either to a merger or an acquisition.
