REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JOHANNESBURG -- Indonesia would invite about 130 entrepreneurs from South Africa to attend Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI), which will be held 21st to 25th October 2015. To facilitate the entrepreneurs who are members of National African Federated Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NAFCOC), the government gave visa-free visit facility for 30 days.
"This special invitation is an effort of Indonesian government to improve business cooperation with South African entrepreneurs," said Head of ITPC Johannesburg, Pontas Parsaroan Tobing, in a statement, Tuesday (6/10).
Pontas explained, Indonesia has made memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Indonesia with NAFCOC. The MoU is expected to provide new insights in improving business, trade and investment between the two countries.
The Government of South Africa revealed the importance of Indonesia's position on the empowerment of SMEs and economic relations with South Africa. So far, South Africa became an important export destination for Indonesia.
Based on data from World Trade Atlas, Indonesia ranked 27th as an exporter in South Africa with a total trade reached 1.21 billion US dollars in 2014. During this time, South Africa was importing palm oil, rubber, coffee, paper, motor, ceramics, footwear, and agricultural equipment from Indonesia.
