REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MANADO -- North Sulawesi has exported 78.1 tons of coconut powder to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on July 1, Head of the Department of Trade and Industry of North Sulawesi Province Jenny Karouw stated.
"On July 1, 2015, North Sulawesi's exporters exported 78.1 tons of coconut powder, which earned the country US$141,248 in revenue," he revealed here on Monday.
He pointed out that the coconut powder from its province was widely popular in the UAE, which is apparent by the frequent demand for it.
Karouw then appealed to the exporters of coconut powder to become more aware and to enhance both the quality and quantity of the product, so that the buyers will not be disappointed.
He admitted that North Sulawesi's coconut powder is widely purchased by the Asian countries, America, Europe, and the Middle East, and a shipment is sent almost every day.
Moreover, the government will assist the exporters in improving their productivity and human resources, he affirmed.
Karouw stated that all related agencies in North Sulawesi will synergize to get a better quality product in order to produce higher added value.
