REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG---- Acting Governor of West Java, Bey Machmudin said that the inauguration of the revitalization of the Cikarang Bridge connecting the EJIP - MM2100 Industrial Area in Bekasi Regency, can facilitate access for residents and workers.

According to Bey, the construction of the bridge is the result of collaboration between the Provincial Government of Jabar and the Bekasi Regency Local Government in the promotion of workers and the community. Because, such bridges can make accessibility easier.

“So today we the Provincial Government of Jabar inaugurated the revitalization of the Cikarang Bridge and of course it is very beneficial for the community and the workers in facilitating movement,” said Bey Machmudin after the inauguration of the Cikarang Bridge in Bekasi Regency, Wednesday evening (1/5/2024).

Bey said that the complete revitalization of the Cikarang Bridge proves that the Jabar Provincial Government is committed to giving appreciation to the workers who have improved the country's economy. “So this is proof that the Jabar province appreciates the workers who have worked well and contributed to the country's economy,” he said.

In addition, he said, on International Labor Day the inauguration of the bridge was a wrong form of paying attention to the welfare of workers. “The inauguration of the bridge is also for labor access,” Bey said.

The event also saw the handover of road and bridge assets from Jabar Provincial Government to Bekasi Regency Local Government. In this way, according to Bey, monitoring and maintenance will be safer because it can be monitored periodically by the Bekasi Government. “(The handover) has been and should be safe,” he said.

The inauguration was also held to coincide with International Labor Day, as a marker of the location being part of the history of Bekasi Regency. Moreover, on top of the Cikarang II Bridge (which is now revitalized) previously stood “Omah Labor”, which has been an icon of the labor movement in Bekasi Regency.

The connecting bridge of the EJIP Industrial Area - MM2100 consists of two bridges. Bridge I was completed and has been used by the community since 2017. While Bridge II was only completed at the end of December 2023 after the “Omah Labor” building that stood on it was relocated.
