“The discussion focused on enhancing the investment performance of KEK to support growth and job creation,” said Bahlil Lahadalia following the meeting.

Although details of President Prabowo’s instructions were not disclosed, Rosan Perkasa Roeslani later reported significant achievements in KEK performance throughout 2024. Total realized investment in KEK areas reached IDR 90.1 trillion, surpassing the year’s target by IDR 78.1 trillion.

Rosan also noted that job creation from KEK initiatives exceeded expectations, with 47,747 new positions filled—well above the target of 38,953. Additionally, 72 new business entities began operations within KEK zones in 2024.

Since the program’s inception in 2012, KEK areas have attracted a cumulative investment of IDR 263.4 trillion, involved 403 companies, and created over 160,000 jobs.

“These figures reflect a strong upward trend and confirm the strategic role of KEK in promoting equitable development and strengthening the national economy,” Rosan said.
