REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA –- Defense Minister, Ryamizard Ryacudu, asked a number of countries not to interfere in the affairs of a state in the countries with separatists or insurgents problems. It’s hoped that the country itself would resolve the problem in its own way.

It was conveyed by Defense Minister during a working visit to a number of countries in Asia-Pacific, including a meeting with the Defense Minister of Australia and Defense Minister of United State.

According to Defense Minister, each country must respect the sovereignty of each country by not giving donations or openly support to the separatist groups.

"I ask other countries, do not interfere. Let the country itself solve it. (Separatist issue) will not be resolved, if other countries interfere it," said Ryamizard told reporters at Defence Ministry, in Medan Merdeka Barat Street, Central Jakarta.

Minister also hoped that issue with local separatist problem would not be interfered by other nations even as Free Papua Organization (OPM) in Lany Jaya, Papua, declared open war on the Indonesian government and refused all invitations dialogue proposed by the government.

"Let it continue to run (the resolve efforts carried out by Indonesia), because Papua is our area," said Minister.
