Police to secure areas around Halim Airport

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Jakarta Police will sterilize and secure the roads around Halim Perdanakusuma Airport when heads of state and government will be flown to Bandung, West Java, to attend the Asian-African Conference's (AAC's) 60th anniversary on Friday.

"Based on the schedule, they will take off at 7:30 a.m. local time," Jakarta Traffic Police Director Senior Commissioner Risyafudin stated here on Thursday.

Risyafudin noted that the heads of state will head to Halim Perdanakusuma Airport at 6 a.m. local time after leaving their hotels at different places in Jalan MH Thamrin, Suddirman, HR Rasuna Said, SCBD, and Jalan Gotot Subroto.

The roads from their respective hotels to the airport will be closed to the public between 6 and 7 a.m. local time.

The sections of roads that will be closed include Pejompongan-Patung Kuda-Traffic Light Sarinah-Hotel Indonesia Traffic Circle-Semanggi that lead to the Inner City Toll Road and the Cawang exit toll gate.

According to plan, the delegates will be flown to Bandung aboard three state aircraft provided by the Indonesian government.

The 60th anniversary celebrations of the AAC in Bandung will mark the peak of the commemoration after all delegations and heads of state and government hold meetings at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) from April 19 to April 23, 2015.
