REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has reminded the Military (TNI) and Police officers, who were recently inaugurated during the 2018 Prasetya Perwira Ceremony, to serve the nation and state. According to him, officers of the Military and Police are the future of the two institutions in determining the reforms in their respective bodies.

"Serve the nation and state, uphold the Red and White flag, and support the welfare of all Indonesian people for the survival of the nation," the president stated in a mandate during a ceremony held at the Merdeka Palace here on Thursday.

The head of state highlighted that officers clearing the academy must apply intelligence in performing their official duties. Jokowi lauded the Military and Police cadets, who have been appointed as officers, as they had passed the stages of selection and military education.

"However, you cannot have the honor if there is no sacrifice from your parents, if there is no persistence and dedication from your instructor and trainer, and if there is no support from the state," President Jokowi emphasized.

The president inaugurated 724 cadets of the TNI and Police comprising 225 from the Military Academy, 102 from the Naval Academy, 119 from the Air Force Academy, and 278 from the Police Academy as officers during the Prasetya Perwira Ceremony.
