REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - A political analyst predicted Golkar Party would use double track strategy to bid power in presidential election in July. The party will have its own candidate for presidential chair while other cadres also become vice president candidate to be paired with presidential candidate from other party.

Earlier, Chairman of Advisory Council of Golkar Party, Akbar Tandjung, declared his readiness to become vice presidential candidate, pairing with presidential candidate from other party.

"When Akbar Tanjung declared his readiness to  become vice president, we can assume that the party use double track strategy," a political analyst from Universitas Paramadina, Hendri Satrio, said on Wednesday.

According to a survey conducted by Lembaga Survei Indonesia (LSI), Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) and Golkar Party will gain the biggest votes during the legislative election on March, 9. They are followed by Democrat Party and Indonesian Great Movement (Gerindra).

"Meaning, Golkar Party will nominate Aburizal Bakri for the presidential bid. Yet, the party has also prepared Jusuf Kalla and Akbar Tanjung for vice presidents,"
