IPQAH: Quran reciters have strategic roles in society

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Quran hafiz or persons who recite Quran, have strategic roles in society. Chairman of Association of Quran Readers and Reciters (IPQAH), Said Hussein al-Munawwar Agiel said they became influential religious leader who live emong people. 

In Indonesia, Muslims usually consult and solve their problems to someone who understand Quran. "It happened  since long time ago," Agiel said in an international seminar of Quran at Istiqlal Mosque Jakarta recently.

Quran memorizers help Muslims to build young generation with their love to Quran and implement its values into daily life.

Based on data of IPQAH, currently no less than 48 thousand Quran memorizers spread throughout Indonesia. They graduated from loval universites as well as abroad like universities in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan and various countries in the Middle East.
