Students in Bandung break record in eating dates

More than five thousand high school students break Indonesian Museum Record (MURI) in eating dates in Trans Studio Bandung, West Java, last week. (illustration)

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG - More than five thousand high school students broke Indonesian Museum Record (MURI) in eating dates in Trans Studio Bandung, West Java, last week. Those students are from Students Communication Forum (Focus) Bandung and Rumah Yatim (Orphans House).

"This Eid's charity event is a cooperation among Focus Bandung, Trans Studio Bandung and Bandung Department of Education, as well as Orphan House.

"MURI noted 5,080participants are joining this ," Manager of Trans Studio Bandung, Sely Rosmawati said.

Beside breaking the fast together, Focus Bandung also collected used clothes to be donated to the people in need. The charity event was also enlivened by appearance of local musicians, such as Ebith Bith A, Samba Sunda Junior, percussion group, cabaret, as well as fashion show.
