REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAMBI - People of Jambi may be familiar with their governor's voice, at least once  everyday. 

"This is my own initiative. I want to invite people to pray and get great rewards from Allah," Governor of Jambi, Hasan Basri Agus said on Friday.

Agus said the call for prayer would be heard during the fasting month of Ramadan especially at magrib when people break their fast. Agus' sound of azan was recorded and transmitted by Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI), a state-owned radio company.

He then told us story that he used to performing azan since he was teenager and during his stay at Islamic boarding school. Well, old habits die hard!
