REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Chairman of Board Contact Majelis Taklim (BKMT) Tutty Alawiyah said a number of its branches succeed to improve the life of their communities. Majelis Taklim is an Islamic forum where people gather and learn about Islam. 

"Majelis Taklim in Makassar has made a small factory. The factory succeeds to share its benefits to its community," Alawiyah said on Tuesday.

The Majelis Taklim in Makassar manages well in cassava business. In harvest time, they process of cassava into value-added products, such as cassava chips. While in other Majelis Taklim its members successfully open cooperatives and manage goood business in trade and providing saving and credit services. Those business have improve and empower its members economically/  

BKMT also manages to conduct house rebuilding of 1,094 units in Bekasi and Bogor. The house rebuilding projects are carried out in cooperation with Ministry of Housing. BKMT now has more than 15 million people in 440 districts of 31 provinces.
