REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - The project of Mass Rapid Transportation (MRT) in Jakarta will follow the transportation and park system implemented in Singapore. During the visit to Singapore last week, Governor of Jakarta Joko Widodo or known as Jokowi also studied Transit Oriented Development (TOD), a mixed-use residential and commercial area designed to maximize access to public transport.

Besides studying MRT, the governor entourage -including MRT's board of directors- also studied city parks which blend the nature and modern building. While in Singapore, Jokowi visited Tan Mok Ya Aquarium. The aquarium becomes the inspiration of Ria Rio Reservoir in East Jakarta.
