REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - President Director of Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Jakarta, Dono Bustami announced that realization of development mass transportation in Jakarta will begin in 42 days. The company will announced the winner of the tender soon.

"We will start the construction this year," Dono said at the Pullman Hotel, Central Jakarta on Monday. Company will hold a general meeting and present construction plan to get approval, then the tender winner will be announced. The next, the company will complete draft contract, then start to hold soft launching.

Construction of MRT in Jakarta will use soft loan from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The central government has agreed to pay 49 percent and the provincial government Jakarta 51 percent.

Earlier, MRT has approved additional funds amount 75.218 billion yen or 767.772 USD from JICA. Totally, the project will be funded with 125 billion yen or 1.2 billion USD. The installment payment will take 40 years. MRT Jakarta will connect Lebak Bulus in South Jakarta and the Hotel Indonesia's in Central Jakarta.
