REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesia could take the advantage of China's economic growth, Vice President Boediono said during receiving an honorary visit from Governor of Yunnan, China, Li Jiheng, on Monday.

"We can use China, one of Indonesian biggest trade partner, to support our economy," Boediono said during the meeting. He added that the Chinese economic growth opened the door of opportunity for Indonesia to increase its cooperation with China especially on tourism, trade, and investment.

Li Jiheng said the growing relations between Yunnan Province and Indonesia had been started long time ago. He mentioned that the trade volume between Yunnan and Indonesia was 1.1 billion USD in 2012, increasing about 119 percent from previous year.

During the visit Jiheng also explores cooperation on finance with Indonesia. There are currently 11 projects worth 20 million USD managed by Indonesian investors in Yunnan. Meanwhile, there are 13 projects in Indonesia worth 44 million USD from Yunnan alone.

He said that Indonesia was a large country in Southeast Asia with good investment climate amid global economic crisis. He hopes China, especially Yunnan, can have better cooperation with Indonesia.
