REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Indonesian Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) recorded that investment realization in the first quarter of 2021 reached IDR 219.7 trillion. This realization grew by 4.3 percent from the same period the previous year amounting to Rp. 210.7 trillion.
This figure grew by 2.3 percent compared to the previous quarter of Rp. 214.7 trillion. "Our investment realization amounted to Rp 219.7 trillion," said BKPM Head Bahlil Lahadalia in a virtual press conference on investment realization, Monday (26/4).
The investment realization totaling Rp. 219.7 trillion consists of domestic investment (PMDN) of Rp. 108 trillion and foreign investment (PMA) of Rp. 111.7 trillion.
Bahlil revealed that compared to the January-March 2020 period, FDI grew significantly by 14 percent from IDR 98 trillion to IDR 111.7 trillion. PMDN decreased 4.2 percent from Rp. 112.7 trillion to Rp. 108 trillion.
Based on the project location, investment realization in the first quarter of 2021 is spread across West Java, DKI Jakarta, East Java, Banten and Central Java.
The five largest countries investing in Indonesia are Singapore, China, South Korea, Hong Kong and Switzerland. Indonesia is targeting the realization of investment to reach Rp 900 trillion by 2021.
