REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesian largest cement producer, PT Semen Indonesia, will expand to Myanmar by building a 200 million USD cement plant with the capacity of a million tonnes per year.
"The building will start next year. It is expected to start operating in 2017," Executive Director of Semen Indonesia, Dwi Sutjipto, said on Monday after a discussion on the cement industry's outlook.
The plan is a part of its expansion to several countries in Southeast Asia, such as Bangladesh and Thailand. Semen Indonesia may need 140-160 million USD loans for the plant, while 40-50 million USD will be from internal cash. The rest or about ten percent will be from its partner.
"But the company also opens for possibility of issuing bonds," he said.
