REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesia state electricity, PLN, will build coal-fired steam power plant with the capacity of 2x100 megawatt (MW) in Takalar, South Sulawesi. This is the first project built in the stage II of Fast Track Program (FTP) 10,000 MW.

"This steam power plant will generate 1,350 gigawatt per hour (GWh) of electricity per year," the Executive Director of PLN, Nur Pamudji, said on Friday.

Pamudji said that unlike other types, steam power plant used about 48 percent of the mixture oflocal elements. The power will be distributed through 150 kiloVolt (kV) switchyard.

The project, conducted by consortium of Chinese and Indonesian interests, is scheduled to be finished in 30 months for unit 1 and 33 months for unit 2. "Consortium obtains development fund from Chinese Preferential Buyer's Credit and state electricity budget," he said.
