REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Sudan parliament extended its invitation to Indonesian government to invest on oil and gas during their visit to Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. The visit to Indonesia was following President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono meeting with his Sudan counterpart earlier this year.

"They invite government and state oil and gas company Pertamina to invest," Vice Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Susilo Siswoutomo, said on Tuesday.

Sudan can produce up to 500,000 barrels oil per day, while Indonesia can produce up to 830,000 barrels oil per day. Pertamina did not elaborate their plan on expansion in 2013.

Seek productive blocks

Pertamina sets the target for investment on 6.773 billion USD with the biggest proportion for upstream sector in around 3.125 billion USD. The state owned company also allocates 2.027 billion USD for refinery, 546,000 USD for trade and 437 USD for gas.

Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Ali Mundakir, said the company committed to seek productive blocks. Pertamina produces 120,000 barrel oil per day and 1.04 MMSCFD of gas.
