REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - An Indonesian humanitarian organization Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) starts distributing livestock for the upcoming Eid al-Adha in five countries affected by conflict. The act is a part of the development of Global Qurban for humanitarian mission.
President of ACT, Ahyudin, mentioned the five countries were Myanmar, Somalia, Bangladesh, Palestine, and Indonesia. "This is a struggle to introduce value. Sacrificing livestock is not just a ceremony," he said on Thursday.
He added that sending livestock was also an effort to build friendship of people around the world. Distributing livestock in conflict affected areas, he said, was an instrument to unite people. It is also an instrument to solve problems.
"We must change our paradigm. Sending our sacrificing livestock is beyond country boundaries," he said.
The program Global Qurban will be developed and ACT invites all Indonesian Embassies around the world to involve in the program. "Our target is to distribute livestock to all Muslim countries which affected by conflict, such as Haiti, Kasmir, Afghanistan, Iraq, and Kenya," he said.
