REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Indonesia is now buying oil from the producing country through intermediary. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) sees the scheme is prone to corruption. According to the Deputy Head of KPK, Zulkarnaen, Indonesia is not anymore the oil exporter then the country should buy oil from one of oil-producing countries. To buy the oil, Indonesia uses an intermediary or agent located in Singapore.

“Why is it so? Why they do not do G to G? Why they should use intermediary?” Zulkarnaen said on Thursday.

He said the scheme was prone to corruption or manipulation as it could give the benefit to certain person. The benefit could be given to the intermediary company or to certain party, or in this case, Indonesian official.

“Those things can give big loss for the state. They buy it with dollar!” Zukarnaen added without giving the certain amount of the potential loss.
