REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Habib Rizieq's lawyer, Kapitra Ampera said his client has a strong will to attend the 212 alumni reunion on Saturday (December 2).
In fact, some of Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) representatives led by its Central Board chairman, Ahmad Sobri Lubis, have departed to Saudi Arabia to pick up their grand imam.
"The team has already departed to Saudi Arabia because Habib Rizieq also has agreed to go home. He wanted to attend 212 reunion," said Kapitra when contacted by Republika.co.id, on Tuesday (November 28).
Meanwhile, Kapitra said, FPI team will meet with Coordinating Minister of Politics, Law and Human Rights, Wiranto and President Joko Widodo. They planned to discuss cases involving Habib Rizieq as suspect.
"Earlier, we had met with the chief of National Police," he added.
Earlier, chairman of Alumni Presidium 212 Slamet Maarif said, they planned to hold a grand reunion 212 in Monas, Gambir, Central Jakarta.
There will be lectures and religious sermon. The mass that will follow the grand reunion 212 is estimated to reach one million people.
"We will commemorate the Prophet Muhammad SAW birthday, as well as grand reunion 212. There are religious events, such as congregational subuh prayers, zikr, advices, lectures and speeches," he said.
